Livro digital.

Um livro digital (livro eletrônico ou o anglicismo e-book) é um livro em formato digital que pode ser lido em equipamentos eletrônicos tais como computadores, PDAs, Leitor de livros digitais ou até mesmo celulares que suportem esse recurso. Os formatos mais comuns de E-books são o PDF, HTML e o ePUB. O primeiro necessita do conhecido leitor de arquivos Acrobat Reader ou outro programa compatível, enquanto que o segundo formato precisa de um navegador de Internet para ser aberto. O Epub é um formato de arquivo digital padrão específico para e-books. Por ser um dispositivo de armazenamento de pouco custo, e de fácil acesso devido à propagação da Internet nas escolas, pode ser vendido ou até mesmo disponibilizado para download em alguns portais de Internet gratuitos. Foi inventado em 1971(carece de fontes bibliográfica), quando Michael Hart digitou a Declaração de Independência dos Estados Unidos da América. Hart foi também o fundador do Projeto Gutenberg, o mais antigo produtor de livros eletrônicos do mundo. Vejamos uma cronologia:

1971 - Michael Hart lidera o projeto Gutenberg que procura digitalizar livros e oferece-los gratuitamente.

1992-1993: F. Crugnola e I. Rigamonti planejam e eles percebem, para a tese deles/delas de grau para a Politécnica em Milão, o primeiro e-book (apoio eletrônico para a leitura só de textos) e eles chamam isto "INCIPIT" .

1993: Zahur Klemath Zapata registra o primeiro programa de livros digitais. Digital Book v.1, DBF.

1993: Publica-se o primeiro livro digital: Do assassinato, considerado uma das belas artes, de Thomas de Quincey.

1995: Amazon começa a vender livros através da Internet.

1996: O projeto Gutenberg alcança os 1.000 livros digitalizados. A meta é um milhão de livros.

1998: São lançados ao mercado os leitores de livros electrónicos: Rocket ebook e Softbook.

1998-1999: Surgem sítios na Internet que vendem livros electrónicos, como eReader.com e eReads.com.

2000: Stephen King lança seu romance Riding Bullet em formato digital. Só pode ser lído em computadores.

2002: Os editoriais Random House y HarperCollins começan a vender versões electrónicas dos seus títulos na Internet.

2005: Amazon compra Mobipocket na sua estratégia sobre o livro eletrônico.

2006: Acordo entre Google e a Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil para digitalizar dois milhões de títulos.

2006: Sony lança o leitor Sony Reader que conta com a tecnologia da tinta eletrônica

2007: Amazon lança o Kindle.

2008: Adobe e Sony fazem compatíveis suas tecnologias de livros eletrônicos (Leitor e DRM).

2008: Sony lança seu PRS-505.

2009: Barnes & Noble lança o Nook.

2009: Inaugurada a primeira loja de livros digitais do Brasil, a Gato Sabido.

2010: Criada a Xeriph, primeira distribuidora de livros digitais do Brasil.

2010: Apple lança o iPad.

Vantagens em relação ao livro tradicional.

A principal vantagem do livro digital é a sua portabilidade. Eles são facilmente transportados em disquetes, CD-ROM, pen-drives e cartões de memória. Como se encontra no formato digital,  pode ser transmitido rapidamente por meio da Internet. Se um leitor que se encontra no Japão, por exemplo, e tiver interesse em adquirir um livro digital vendido nos Estados Unidos ou no Brasil, pode adquiri-lo imediatamente e em alguns minutos estará lendo tranquilamente o seu e-book. Outra vantagem é o preço. Como seu custo de produção e de entrega é inferior, um livro digital de alto padrão, como os encontrados em sítios especializados, pode chegar as mãos do leitor por um preço até 80% menor que um livro impresso, quando não for gratuito. Mas um dos grandes atrativos para livros digitais é o fato de já existirem softwares capazes de os ler, em tempo real, sem sotaques robotizados e ainda converter a leitura em uma mídia sonora, como o MP3, criando audiobooks. Assim como um livro tradicional, o livro digital é protegido pelas leis de direitos autorais. Isso significa que eles não podem ser alterados, plagiados, distribuídos ou comercializados de nenhuma forma, sem a expressa autorização de seu autor.  No caso dos livros digitais gratuitos, devem ser observadas as regras e leis que regem as obras de domínio público ou registros de códigos abertos para distribuição livre. A existência de leitores associado com vários formatos, a maioria especializada em um único formato, fragmentos do mercado do livro eletrônico. Em 2010, a e-books continuou a ganhar quota de mercado para a versão em papel. Alguns editores de livros eletrônicos já começaram a distribuir os livros que estavam em domínio público. Ao mesmo tempo, os autores de livros que não foram aceitos pelos editores ofereceram seus trabalhos online para que possam ser comprados e lidos. Além disso, a cópia e distribuição de livros protegidos por direitos autorais é muito menor do que a diferença com os discos. O motivo é demográfico, o complexo processamento digital e uma maior variedade de gostos e públicos (e-books: la guerra digital global por el dominio del libro – By Chimo Soler -Historiador).

Formatos.

1 - O CAEE através do NEC deve desenvolver esforços para ser membro do OCWC (Open Course Ware Consortium), o consórcio de instituições de ensino de diversos países que oferecem conteúdos e materiais didáticos de graça pela internet.

2 - Para acessar os cursos gratuitos, não é necessário efetuar o login no site do CAEE - Online. Basta acessar a página Cursos Gratuitos - NEC-CAEE, onde estão listados todos os conteúdos oferecidos.

3 - Não é necessário se cadastrar para acessar os cursos. No entanto, a declaração de conclusão só poderá ser disponibilizada aos cadastrados.

4 - Selecione o curso desejado, realize seu cadastro e, ao término do mesmo, com obtenção de média igual ou superior a 7,0 no pós-teste, a declaração de conclusão do curso estará disponível para impressão.

5 - O sistema não armazena o período em que cada aluno realiza o curso.  Como a declaração de conclusão do curso é gerada de forma automática, não é possível incluir o período de realização do curso.

6 - Os cursos gratuitos não possuem material didático para impressão ou para download.

7 - O curso inicia assim que o aluno conclui o cadastramento dos dados pessoais.

8 - Para os cursos Ciência e Tecnologia, Ética Empresarial e Recursos Humanos, faça o procedimento abaixo: Toda vez que você for acessar o curso, escolha a opção “Já sou cadastrado”, digite seu CPF e seu e-mail. Clique em “menu” no lado direito da tela e continue a leitura de onde você parou.

9 - Para os demais cursos (exceto Diversidade nas Organizações e Quiz): Toda vez que você for acessar o curso, escolha a opção “Já sou cadastrado”, digite seu CPF e seu e-mail. No lado esquerdo da tela, você poderá selecionar a unidade na qual você parou.  Os cursos Diversidade nas Organizações e Filosofia não possuem pós teste. Todos os demais possuem.

10 - Para receber a declaração a média deverá ser igual ou superior a 7.0.

11 - Todos os cursos possuem declaração a critério do interessado e de acordo com as regras definidas no procedimento especifico.

12 - Para corrigir o seu nome, solicite atualização dos dados por e-mail no endereço inespeccebr@gmail.com, informando o nome correto e o CPF. Após a atualização, será necessário retornar ao curso, refazer o pós-teste e gerar uma nova declaração.

O NEC do CAEE-INESPEC em processo específico deve garantir o funcionamento permanente dos cursos para a Educação Profissional Continuada que é um programa oficial do CAEE-INESPEC-2012-2018, que visa atualizar e aprimorar os conhecimentos dos profissionais do CAEE e dos educadores ligados a educação especial que queiram participar. É livre e aberto e foi criado pelo International Digital Publishing Fórum (CICOM). Arquivos têm a extensão. ePUB.  EPUB é projetado para conteúdo fluido, o que significa que a tela de texto pode ser otimizada de acordo com o dispositivo usado para leitura. O padrão é destinado a funcionar como um único formato oficial para distribuição e venda de livros digitais. Ele substitui o padrão Open ebook.

Adobe Reader é um software que permite que o usuário do computador visualize, navegue e imprima arquivos no formato PDF. Este tipo de arquivo é muito comum em documentações gerais (manuais de instrução, apostilas, e-books). Por ser multiplataforma, está disponível para diversos sistemas operacionais.

Consórcio de Universidades – OWC.

O Instituto de Ensino, Pesquisa, Extensão e Cultura está agregado ao Consórcio de Universidades OWC. O Open Course Ware(OCW) é uma rede de instituições que através do site promove publicação gratuita e aberta de material acadêmico digital das diversas faculdade e universidade, estudos e material de alta qualidade e de nível universitário de graduação e pós graduação. Material instrutivo e educativo. Estes materiais são organizados como cursos, e muitas vezes incluem materiais do curso de graduação regular e de planejamento e ferramentas de avaliação, bem como conteúdo temático.  Open Course Ware é livre e abertamente licenciado, acessível a qualquer pessoa, a qualquer hora através da Internet. Você pode em alguns países ter o material como parte de cursos regulares. Depende das regras jurídicas de cada nação. O INESPEC é uma organização de pesquisa, e não é uma entidade universitária credenciada, por conta da Educação Continuada se vincula ao PROJETO OWC nos  termos e objetivos seguintes:

Other trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the Website may be the trademarks of other third parties. Your use of the Website grants you no right or license to reproduce or otherwise use any OCWC or third-party trademarks.
9. Changes. The OCWC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Website following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes. The OCWC may also, in the future, offer new services and/or features through the Website (including, the release of new tools and resources). Such new features and/or services shall be subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
10. Termination. The OCWC may terminate your access to all or any part of the Website at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately. If you wish to terminate this Agreement or your OCWC account, you may simply discontinue using the Website. All provisions of this Agreement which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties. The Website is provided "as is". The OCWC and its suppliers and licensors hereby disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Neither the OCWC nor its suppliers and licensors, makes any warranty that the Website will be error free or that access thereto will be continuous or uninterrupted. You understand that you download from, or otherwise obtain content or services through, the Website at your own discretion and risk.
12. Limitation of Liability. In no event will the OCWC, or its suppliers, licensors, affiliates, successors or assigns be liable with respect to any subject matter of this Agreement under any contract, negligence, strict liability or other legal or equitable theory for: (i) any special, incidental or consequential damages; (ii) the cost of procurement or substitute products or services; (iii) for interruption of use or loss or corruption of data; or (iv) for any amounts that exceed the fees paid by you to the OCWC under this Agreement during the twelve (12) month period prior to the cause of action. The OCWC shall have no liability for any failure or delay due to matters beyond their reasonable control. The foregoing shall not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
13. General Representation and Warranty. You represent and warrant that (i) your use of the Website will be in strict accordance with the OCWC Privacy Policy, with this Agreement and with all applicable laws and regulations (including without limitation any local laws or regulations in your country, state, city, or other governmental area, regarding online conduct and acceptable content, and including all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the United States or the country in which you reside) and (ii) your use of the Website will not infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property rights of any third party.
14. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the OCWC, its contractors, and its licensors, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Website, including but not limited to the Content you upload to the Website, your violation of this Agreement or in the event any of the representations or warranties is or shall be untrue or misleading in any respect.
15. Miscellaneous. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the OCWC and you concerning the subject matter hereof, and they may only be modified by a written amendment signed by an authorized executive of the OCWC, or by the posting by the OCWC of a revised version. Except to the extent applicable law, if any, provides otherwise, this Agreement, any access to or use of the Website will be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, U.S.A., excluding its conflict of law provisions. Except for claims for injunctive or equitable relief or claims regarding intellectual property rights (which may be brought in any competent court without the posting of a bond), any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be finally settled final and binding arbitration in Middlesex County, Massachusetts by the American Arbitration Association under its rules and procedures in effect at the time of submission and the judgment upon the award entered shall be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.  If any party fails to appear at any properly noticed arbitration proceeding, an award may be entered against the party notwithstanding its failure to appear.  The parties hereby agree to share equally in the cost of said arbitration, except that in the discretion of the arbitrator, any award may include the cost of a party's counsel if the arbitrator expressly determines that the party against whom the award is entered has caused the dispute, controversy or claim to be submitted to arbitration as a frivolous or dilatory action. The arbitration shall take place in the English language and the arbitral decision may be enforced in any court.  If any part of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, that part will be construed to reflect the parties' original intent, and the remaining portions will remain in full force and effect. A waiver by either party of any term or condition of this Agreement or any breach thereof, in any one instance, will not waive such term or condition or any subsequent breach thereof. You may assign your rights under this Agreement to any party that consents to, and agrees to be bound by, its terms and conditions; the OCWC may assign its rights under this Agreement without condition. This Agreement will be binding upon and will inure to the benefit of the parties, their successors and permitted assigns.
